Positivity is a highly underrated energy source. We live in a world that tends to focus on the negative things going on…just turn on the news. But if you’re like us, you’re always eager to find ways to bring more positive energy into the world. However, because it’s not the most common energy we’re around it can be difficult to find ways to bring about the positive energy. We thought this was the perfect time to spread a little positive energy, and share 10 ways to exude positive energy.
Meditation is an incredibly powerful tool that we all have access to. We’re constantly on the go, so taking just a few minutes to get present and take a few deep breaths can help us to recharge and get back into a more positive mindset. It’s great to do when you’re feeling a bit down or caught in a negative spiral.
This is a biggie. Since we tend to get trapped in the negative thinking, one of the best ways to exude positive energy is to make it a point to show gratitude. Show gratitude for any and everything, it doesn’t matter how big or small it is. Showing gratitude for things in life is such a great way to shift to exuding positive energy.
For Every Negative Thought, Think of 3 Positive Ones
Feeling like you can’t get out of the negative energy? Catch yourself and every time you think a negative thought about something or someone, stop and think of 3 positives about that very thing/thought.
Ever notice how contagious a smile is? You can’t look at someone who is smiling and NOT smile back. It’s a simple, yet very effective way to exude positive energy. Smiling is a great way to help yourself feel more positive, and bring more positive energy to the people around you.
Love and Honor Yourself
Since we tend to be so hard on ourselves, we forget the power in actually showing ourselves some love and respect. Instead of beating yourself up, think about all the things that make you…you. Start to show yourself some love and honor.
It’s so easy to get caught up in gossip and speaking negatively, but next time you find yourself in that – make a switch and just avoid the gossip altogether. Let’s face it, nothing positive really comes out of gossip. Instead, remove yourself from the gossip situation or think/share positive news or information.
Seems silly? Simply saying things like please and thank you can go a long way, it shows others that you respect them and yourself. And respect is an incredibly powerful positive energy. Instead of just ignoring or not saying anything, show others manners and you’d be surprised at the energy shift.
Set an affirmation for yourself daily, decide how you want to feel/be for the day and say it to yourself. Say it often and consistently throughout the day, write it down if it helps. Filling yourself with positive affirmations is a great way to actually FEEL and be those positive energies.
Make Time for Yourself
Self-care is something we don’t really make enough time for. Making time for yourself and doing things just for you is a great way to recharge your batteries and get your mind in a more positive space. When we take care of us, we’re able to be much more present and positive.
Pay it Forward
Doesn’t it feel great to do something for other people? Making little pay it forward gestures is a great way to exude positive energy into the world. Something as small as holding the door open for someone, or buying a stranger’s coffee.
