Choosing the soap you use for your body is a…
Be honest…you want to keep the wrinkles away, as much as possible. The anti-aging portion of the skin care industry has grown significantly in the past 10 years, and continues to do so. While there are a ton of new and advanced techniques, products and treatments available sometimes we need to get down to the basics. Just like with your wardrobe, if you don’t have the basics all the extra ‘sparkly’ things aren’t able to give you the results you really want. There are some beauty school basics that will keep the wrinkles away…and we’re sharing them with you now.
Use Skin Care Products Formulated For Your Skin Type
This is a beauty school basic that’s often overlooked with consumers. While it’s always fun to try different skin care products, especially the latest and greatest, when they’re not formulated to work with your skin type you’re not going to do yourself any favors. Using skin care products that aren’t formulated to work with your skin type can lead to skin problems like irritation, inflammation and breakouts. All of those problems can also lead to wrinkles being much more prominent. That being said, it’s vital that you use skin care products that are going to work with your skin type.
Apply Your Products in the Right Order
You didn’t think you could apply your skin care products in any old order, did you? Well, if you do you’re not alone. Many people tend to apply their skin care products in the wrong order and unfortunately by doing that you’re not able to get your skin the real benefits of the products. Always start your skin care routine by cleansing, if you tone your skin that should immediately follow the cleansing step. After cleansing/toning it’s all about the treatment or serum type products. Many people tend to apply their moisturizer right after toning but by doing that your skin isn’t able to fully absorb any specialty products. Instead, apply your treatment focused products in order from lightest/thinnest in consistency to thickest. You should always finish with moisturizer.
SPF Doesn’t Just Sound Great
With summer approaching, everyone (including us) is talking about applying SPF before leaving the house. But we’re not new around here, we know that there are still quite a few people who aren’t applying this rule to their beauty routine. Here’s the deal…applying SPF to your skin every day doesn’t just sound great-it IS great. And it’s something that you need to be consistent with applying.
Always, Always Take Your Makeup Off
Chances are you’ve heard people talk about removing your makeup, but are you making it a priority before heading to bed? Taking your makeup off at night, every single night is an absolute necessity to fight wrinkles. Sleeping with your makeup on tends to clog your pores and can have a huge impact on the aging process, especially when it’s something you do on a regular basis. The truth is your skin needs a break, it needs to breathe, and taking your makeup off at night is necessary to allow your skin to do that.
