Whenever your hair begins to feel foreign, like it’s just…
There have probably been many mornings where you wanted to curl your hair before heading out the door for the day but ended up NOT because of the time necessary for curling. If you’re anything like us you felt in your heart of hearts that there has to be another way, a way to curl your hair in just a few minutes. Ok, we may be being a bit dramatic but let’s be real – ain’t nobody got time to be spending a ton of time on their hair every morning (especially if you love sleeping as much as we do). Lucky enough for us all, we discovered a way to curl your hair in under 5 minutes. Yep, we went there. Keep reading to discover how to make it happen!
Prep Your Hair
Ok, so just because you’re curling your hair in just a few minutes doesn’t mean it’s ok to skip out on prepping your hair. And by prepping your hair we of course mean, applying some heat protectant product – you’ll thank us later in life. Of course, as with any curled hairstyle make sure your hair is completely dry. See, the prepping step didn’t take that long!
Put Your Hair Up
That’s right, we’re actually telling you to tie your hair back into a high ponytail. Before you think we’re crazy or have officially lost our minds stick with us. Pull back ALL of your hair into the high ponytail and secure it with a rubber band, no need to create the perfect ponytail and definitely don’t make it too tight (you won’t want any creasing to happen!).
So you’ve got your hair tied back into a high ponytail, now with your heated curling iron you’re just going to start taking different sized sections of hair that are down in the ponytail and start curling them. Don’t hold the curling iron in one spot for too long, keep it moving but curl all the way to where the rubber band is in your hair. It’s up to you if you want to leave a little of the ends straight (depending on how you like your curls to come out). Continue to do this process until you’ve curled the entire ponytail.
Wrapping It Up
Once you’ve curled all the hair in your ponytail, allow the curls to cool a bit. After they’ve cooled, gently remove the rubber band from your hair. Some suggest removing the hair tie with your hair/head upside down to promote a little more volume – that’s up to you. Once you’ve removed the rubber band, run your fingers through your hair and voila! Just spritz your hair with some hair spray to keep it in place and you’re done.
Seriously, how easy is that? Who knew you could create gorgeous, loose curls in under 5 minutes. Talk about a major time saver! With this quick curling technique you’re sure to save major time in the morning, giving you more time to sleep or actually eat breakfast before you head out.
