Scrub the Tired Away
One of the our favorite tips to helping tired skin get an instant wakeup call is exfoliating! Exfoliating the skin is such a game changer, especially when your skin is in that tired looking state. When you exfoliate you’re helping to remove any dead skin cells and that dull surface of your skin that’s synonymous with tired skin. It helps to give you a fresh start (essentially) with your skin since you’re getting a deep clean and really breaking through that surface tiredness. You’re going to hit all the marks with exfoliating–soften, soothe, and protect.
Give Your Skin Some Hydration and Moisturize
Two other elements that your skin is going to be craving when it’s tired-hydration and moisturization. Both elements tend to be lacking in the skin when it’s tired. But both hydration and moisture have a huge role in adding life back into tired skin. Generally, when our skin is tired it’s lacking both elements so making a major effort to add them back is going to be a huge help. Drink more water, and make sure you’re being conscious about the moisturizer you use. You may want to use a moisturizer that’s a bit thicker and creamier when your skin is tired, since it’s lacking a lot of natural moisture it’s going to need the extra boost. When your skin is well hydrated and moisturized it helps to add a much softer appearance and feel to tired skin. Additionally, your skin will be much more soothed when it has its needs in this area met.
Cool Your Skin
Sound odd? Experts suggest that when your skin is tired, it needs some cooling elements to help give it that boost. You know how when you’re really tired splashing your face with cool water instantly wakes you up? Well, that same thing applies to tired skin. Rinsing your skin with cool water after you’ve cleansed has been found to give your skin that nice boost when it’s really tired. Experts suggest that the cool water helps to create tighter skin that’s also really soothing. In addition, some suggest to place your eye cream and/or serum products in the refrigerator for a few minutes to get them cool before applying. Applying cool skin care products has been found to add an added soothing benefit to them and help give tired skin a boost of soothing but tightening benefits.
