Give Your Scalp a Little TLC
Many people don’t realize that when it comes to having healthy, thicker hair it really starts at your scalp. Taking care of your scalp can be a tremendous strategy to really combating thinning hair. One of the best places to start is to begin giving yourself a scalp massage on a regular basis. You can do it in the shower while you’re washing your hair, begin to massage your scalp – yes, it can be that easy. Massaging your scalp is a great trick to really get the blood circulating in your scalp, since our hair starts at the scalp having a healthy scalp is going to be really beneficial here.
Start Backing Off On The Heat
We’re just like you…we love using heated hair styling tools to create the hairstyle that we want to achieve. However, when we use a lot of heat on our hair all the time it begins to put a lot of stress on our hair. This is especially true when you begin to notice your hair thinning. If you’ve noticed your hair is starting to thin, try backing off on how much you’re using heat to style your hair. Try letting your hair air dry instead of using a blow dryer, try to only use heat hair styling tools a couple days a week instead of everyday. You don’t have to completely back off, but try to find ways to minimize the amount you’re using heat to give your hair a chance to repair itself and really relax.
Add In Some Different Diet Changes
Here’s the deal…our hair is majorly impacted by what we put in our bodies as far as food and supplements are concerned. If you’re struggling with thinning hair, take a look at your diet – get real with yourself about where you can start to improve what you’re eating. Try incorporating more foods that are nutrient dense, fresh fruits, veggies and lean proteins are going to help give your body (therefore your scalp and hair) the nutrients it needs to function properly. In addition, many people have found great results by incorporating some supplements that are geared towards helping strengthen your hair. Biotin is a commonly used supplement when it comes to your hair, and if you’re finding that you really want to bring your thinning hair up a notch it can be a great supplement to include in your daily intake.
