Gearing up for the beach? It’s that time of year, where many of us are starting to think about the days we’ll be spending at the beach during the summer season. The summer season is pretty synonymous with beach filled days and naturally we’re all eager to look and feel our best to fully enjoy our beach days. We want to help you stay gorgeous and flawless all beach season long, so we rounded up a few of our must know tips for beach ready skin.

Gearing up for the beach season, you’re likely starting to notice some of the dryness on your skin. We all develop dead skin cells on the surface of our skin and it often causes an uneven surface of skin. The best way to get smoother, more glowing skin is to exfoliate. Exfoliating skin helps to get rid of those dead skin cells, smoothing the surface of your skin, and clearing up any hard to reach oil/dirt in the skin that isn’t able to be removed from cleansing. This helps your skin to be healthier and able to better absorb those sun protection products applied at the beach. Just be sure that you’re exfoliating your entire body, not just your face!

Keep Your Skin Protected
Going off of what we mentioned above, anytime you’re planning to head to the beach it’s essential that you make sun protection a priority. As much as we all love spending time outdoors in the sun, the sun isn’t exactly our skin’s best friend. In order to make sure that your skin is protected from aging and developing any sun burns or rashes, SPF application needs to be taken seriously. It’s suggested to apply SPF at least 30 minutes prior to going outside to allow your skin time to absorb the SPF protection. Additionally, it’s been found that SPF products lose their ability to thoroughly protect the skin after 2-3 hours. That means reapplying SPF to your skin every 2-3 hours to keep your skin constantly protected while enjoying your time at the beach.


Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Hydration is key to skin health, regardless of the time of year or what activities you’re doing. However, when spending time at the beach you’re exposed to elements that tend to cause the skin to lose its natural hydration much quicker and severely. Knowing this, making it a point to keep your skin super hydrated during the beach season is going to help keep your skin glowing and healthy all throughout. Drinking a lot of water (we mean a LOT) is one of the best ways to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. In addition to drinking a lot of water throughout the day, many experts suggest applying moisturizing products to your skin throughout the day. This is especially true if you spend any time in water, after you get out of the water it’s best to apply a moisturizing product to the skin to lock in moisture and prevent it from becoming more dried out.
